HafenCity in Hamburg is known for its modern architecture, futuristic buildings and impressive harbour basin. But away from the impressive cranes and chic residential complexes, there is a very special leisure experience: Moviegolf. It is an attraction that combines classic mini golf fun with the magic of cinema, creating a unique indoor experience that delights visitors in both rain and sunshine.
Moviegolf is no ordinary mini golf course. The facility consists of 18 elaborately designed holes, each dedicated to a well-known classic film. Under black light, the holes glow in fluorescent colours and transport players into fantastical worlds. For example, you can swing your club in the middle of a jungle landscape à la ‘Jurassic Park’ or navigate the ball through a scene reminiscent of the Hollywood classic King Kong. A total of 500 films and TV series are visually represented here, including the protagonists of the cult film series ‘The Hangover’ and various Disney films and children’s series.

The special flair comes from the combination of sporting competition and cinematic atmosphere. This creative and immersive design makes Moviegolf an ideal destination for families, couples or friends who want to spend an entertaining time together. It is a great alternative to the usual leisure activities and offers an experience that is unique in Hamburg. This is also because you can not only compete in mini golf here, but also test your cinematic knowledge. Players receive two scorecards. One is for mini golf, and on the other they can enter the film titles they have found. This is not as easy as it sounds, because different films merge together on the screens.

A visit to Moviegolf is also an excellent opportunity to explore the dynamic and modern side of HafenCity. Away from the mini golf courses, there are countless exciting highlights to discover here. You can take a stroll through Lohsepark, which serves as the green lung of the district, or visit the International Maritime Museum, housed in a historic warehouse building that brings maritime history to life. The impressive Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg’s new landmark, is also just a short walk away and offers architectural masterpieces that are not to be missed.
